Alex Opoku Mensah, Regional Director of the National Servive Secretariat, Ahanti Region has been recorded to have been verbally abusing a nurse at the Manhyia Hospital in the Ashanti Region.
He insulted a nurse at the hospital for approaching his daughter, who is a doctor at the hospital in a manner he deemed inappropriate to correct her. Apparently the doctor made a mistake which was spotted by the nurse, she confronted the doctor i.e the NSS Director’s daughter and she took to report the incident to her father.
According to an audio that has leaked which contains the recording of the incident the NSS Boss was on top of his voice raining insults on the nurse after his daughter had reported the incident to him.
In his rant, he questioned the academic credibility of the nurse and claims that his daughter wrote NOV/DEC examinations and excelled so the Nurse had no right confronting his daughter.
Mr. Opoku-Mensah in a Facebook post today has rendered his apologies and it reads;
"I understand the disappointment and appreciate the inconvenience my action has caused the general public as well as the Nursing FRATERNITY and Manhyia Hospital. This has never been my style* but for a genuine reason to mediate a persistent issue between my daughter(Doctor) and a colleague nurse who I as well consider my daughter. I do apologize for any mishap and assure all, there shall not be a repetition of such.I look forward to maintaining a cordial relationship between any affected person.Best Regards"
